This Privacy Policy describes how Meta Experiences S.r.l., a company based in Italy and owner of the mobile application Escape Shot (“App”), processes information relating to users who use the App.

By using Escape Shot, the user agrees to the processing of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information Processed by the App

Escape Shot is designed to operate primarily locally on the user’s device. The App does not send the user’s photos to Meta Experiences S.r.l. servers for processing.

However, in order to ensure the proper functioning of the App, certain information may be processed, and specific device permissions may be required.

3. Required Permissions

A. Camera

Required permission: CAMERA

The App requires access to the device’s camera to allow the user to take new photos directly within the application.

Images captured through the camera are processed locally on the device and are not sent to external servers belonging to Meta Experiences S.r.l.

B. Gallery, Photos and Storage

Required permissions:
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, where applicable, or equivalent permissions required by more recent versions of Android, such as READ_MEDIA_IMAGES.

On Apple devices, the App may request access to the photo library according to the permissions provided by iOS.

Access to the gallery or photo library is requested to allow the user to:

  • import images already stored on the device;

  • edit images using the App’s features;

  • save processed images;

  • save configurations or content generated by the user.

Images selected by the user are processed locally on the device.

4. Visual Data and User-Created Content

Photos taken, imported or edited through Escape Shot, as well as configurations created by the user, remain under the user’s control.

Meta Experiences S.r.l. does not claim any ownership rights over images or content created by the user through the App.

Unless otherwise specified or voluntarily initiated by the user, such content remains stored locally on the device and is not uploaded to Meta Experiences S.r.l. servers.

5. Purposes of Processing

The information and permissions required by the App are used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • allowing the user to take new photos using the camera;

  • allowing the import of images from the gallery or photo library;

  • editing and processing images within the App;

  • saving images and configurations on the device;

  • allowing the voluntary sharing of content by the user;

  • managing any in-app purchases or subscriptions through Google Play or the Apple App Store;

  • verifying the subscription status, where applicable;

  • ensuring the proper functioning of the App.

6. Local Data Processing

Escape Shot processes images and configurations primarily locally on the user’s device.

Photos taken or imported are not sent to external servers belonging to Meta Experiences S.r.l. for processing.

This means that Meta Experiences S.r.l. does not directly access the user’s personal images, unless the user independently decides to share them through external channels or voluntarily sends them to the company, for example for technical support purposes.

7. Sharing of Content

The App may include features that allow the user to share images or configurations through third-party applications, such as email, social networks, messaging apps or other tools available on the device.

Sharing is always voluntarily initiated by the user.

When the user decides to share content through a third-party platform or application, the processing of the shared data will be governed by the privacy policies and terms of service of the selected third party.

Meta Experiences S.r.l. is not responsible for the processing of content carried out by third-party applications, services or platforms chosen by the user.

8. Subscriptions, In-App Purchases and Payments

Escape Shot may offer an optional subscription model or optional in-app purchases.

The purpose of the subscription may include, for example, removing the watermark from saved or shared images, or providing access to other premium features that may be available within the App.

Payments are handled exclusively through the official platforms:

  • Google Play Billing, for Android devices;

  • Apple App Store / In-App Purchase, for iOS devices.

Meta Experiences S.r.l. does not collect, store or have direct access to the user’s complete payment details, such as credit card numbers, bank details or payment credentials.

Google and Apple directly manage payment processing and may provide Meta Experiences S.r.l. only with the information necessary to verify the purchase or subscription status, such as whether the subscription is active, inactive, expired or cancelled.

The processing of data by Google and Apple is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms of service.

9. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services necessary for the operation of the application, distribution, management of in-app purchases or subscription verification.

Third-party services may process data according to their respective privacy policies.

10. Legal Basis for Processing

If the user is located in the European Economic Area, the processing of personal data, where applicable, is based on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • performance of a contract, to allow the use of the App and its features;

  • user consent, when access to the camera, gallery, photo library or other device permissions is requested;

  • legitimate interest, to ensure the security, functionality and proper operation of the App;

  • compliance with legal obligations, where required by applicable law.

11. Data Retention

Since images and configurations are processed and saved locally on the device, Meta Experiences S.r.l. does not store copies of photos or content created by the user on its own servers.

Content saved locally remains on the user’s device until the user decides to delete it, uninstall the App or clear the App’s data.

Information relating to purchases or subscriptions is managed by Google or Apple according to their respective data retention policies.

Any communications voluntarily sent by the user to Meta Experiences S.r.l., for example via support email, may be retained for the time necessary to respond to the request and to comply with any legal obligations.

12. Data Deletion and Revocation of Permissions

The user may delete local data at any time through the device settings, by deleting saved content, clearing the App’s data or uninstalling the application.

The user may also revoke permissions granted to the App, such as camera access or gallery access, through the settings of their device.

Revoking certain permissions may limit or prevent the proper functioning of specific App features.

13. User Rights

Within the limits provided by applicable law, the user may have the right to:

  • request confirmation as to whether personal data concerning them exists;

  • request access to their personal data;

  • request correction of inaccurate data;

  • request deletion of personal data;

  • request restriction of processing;

  • object to processing;

  • request data portability, where applicable;

  • withdraw previously given consent;

  • lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

14. Data Security

Meta Experiences S.r.l. adopts reasonable measures to protect the information processed through the App.

Since image processing takes place primarily locally on the device, the risk of unauthorized access to content by Meta Experiences S.r.l. is reduced.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage can be considered 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The user is responsible for the security of their device, for any backup of their content and for protecting images saved locally.

15. Children’s Privacy

Escape Shot is not intended for individuals under the age of 13.

Meta Experiences S.r.l. does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.

16. International Data Transfers

Meta Experiences S.r.l. does not directly transfer photos or content created by the user to external servers.

However, some third-party services, such as Google or Apple, may process data in countries other than the user’s country of residence, according to their respective privacy policies and applicable protection measures.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Meta Experiences S.r.l. reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time.

Any changes will be published within the App, on the website or on the dedicated Privacy Policy page.

Users are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically to check for any updates.

Continued use of the App after the publication of changes implies acceptance of the updated version of the Privacy Policy.
